OS Map of Mayar

This lovely view was always one of our favourites back during our time in Scotland. Part of the Angus Glens the natural amphitheatre carved into the mountains after the last ice age, is part of a circular walk which also encompasses two munros. With the heather all purple it made for a fantastic day out!

This was the first munro for our boys! The rewards were fabulous views all around. Mayar is one of two munros (mountains in Scotland over 3000 feet in height, there's 282 of them!) in the area and was part of a fantastic circular hike we did that day. The panorama was stitched together in Photoshop from a series of shots I took.

Mayar
A day spent above Glen Isla. Early start, ice on the windscreen of the car. Sunscreen on by midday as the sun was strong by then. Afternoon was a different story again, heavy rain that just kept coming. We were there to visit a few Tumps we'd not been to before. Morning was so nice we walked on to Mayar and had our sandwiches there, the view was just wonderful. A great day out.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.
