The ascent via Stanger Gill
Taken two days before yesterday's upload, this is the aforementioned climb up from Stonethwaite via Stanger Gill. The path is paved with smooth rock on it's steeper sections, but the rock was very slippery in the damp and mossy conditions.

The rock feature with no name
A bit further up along Stanger Gill from the last shot, this sloping rock caught my eye. Surely it deserves an official name on the map? Couldn't see one though. By this point, the cloud was starting to lower and the wind was picking up, especially after leaving the shelter of the northern slopes of Rosthwaite Fell.

Langstrath Valley (in explore)
Langstrath is a wild, isolated valley running from the high fells towards Borrowdale. I enjoyed a beautiful hike along the valley beside the meandering Stonethwaite Beck. Stonethwaite Beck Borrowdale
(A re crop of an old picture.) Stonethwaite Beck joins with Honister GIll and Seathwaite Beck to form the infant River Derwent flowing into Derwentwater and then out to the Irish Sea at Workington. This complex of waterways carries a tremendous amount of water away from the highest hills in the Lake District.
