Cottages that used to be home
A row of 11 cottages, built between 1860 and 1881 and home to the miners and their families. It is said that the gable end of the house facing the camera was licensed to sell tobacco. A tough place to live.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.

The Moelwynion (Moelwyn Mountains) above the village of Tanygrisiau, in Gwynedd, North Wales. They are a horseshoe group of mountains located in central Snowdonia. The complete ridge has in total 18 separate peaks whose heights range from 600-900 meters. They extend from Moelwyn Bach, which lies north-east of Porthmadog, to Manod Mawr north of the village Llan Ffestiniog. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (Great White Hill) and Moelwyn Bach (Little White Hill). - Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
