Heading for Dalegarth.

For the first time in a generation Shirley and I took a trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway yesterday. It may only be a 15 inch gauge line but had forgotten what a joy the fourteen mile return trip was. The scenery was absolutely superb and varied. Best of all Shirley had upgraded our booking without telling me so that a we had the end seats in the observation cars both ways. Photographed blind just north east of Miteside by poking my right arm with camera out of the window. It was a case of click and hope.

We were really amazed to see, not just the dog, but this highly confident cat , on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway on Sunday. The cat was so comfortable, and was fascinated as we rocked along, passed the lovely countryside
