NO514535, LR54. HISTORY Pillar completed 26th April 1948 £8.13s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NO42/16 within the Dundee block during 1948. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary block NO46 (Forfar) during 1956. Levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in April 1956. Last maintained by the OS in June 1986. SITE VISIT Parked on SE verge of unclassified road at NO518550. Followed tracks past Fordmouth and Back of Turin to open hill at NO512540 then out onto open hill and up to summit. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces north, ~349°. Vented through east sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view.
