NH436231, LR26. HISTORY Pillar completed 27th October 1954 costing £83.6s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NH54/15 within the Inverness secondary block during 1955, and levelled to second class precision in 1956. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary block NH40 (Loch Ness) during 1960. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in June 1976. SITE VISIT Three trig 20½ mile circuit starting and finishing at Snenval. Approached from WSW. From Meall A Chrathaich in a near straight line via the bealachs circumnavigating the lochans and intervening peaks. The pillar is in good condition. The spider retains its original OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. The flush bracket faces NNE, compass measurement 15°. Vented through the right (NW) sight hole. Full 360° panorama from this top. Returned to the car via an estate track through NH419256 after wading across the River Coiltie.
