OS Map of Meall Fuar-mhonaidh

An awesome view of the Great Glen at sunrise. 06:14 telephoto image of the Great Glen from Meall-fhuar Mhonaidh, 700 m. 2,300 feet, Inverness-shire, Scotland.
Commentary. From 700 metres up on the humpback hill, Meall Fuar-mhonaidh, above Loch Ness this telephoto shot extends over 40 miles to the Nevis Range, slanting into the clouds (left of centre, top). From here one can survey the full 23 and a half miles of Loch Ness, three miles of Loch Oich and ten miles of Loch Lochy. And still this immense view covers less than a sixth of this “visible from space,” 350 mile fault-line. We are not merely viewing it, or above it, we are on it! Some views are essentially beautiful, some interesting and some, simply vast. This spectacle is all three, but its scale is overwhelming!

We diverted to Meall Fuar-mhonaidh, near Drumnadrochit given the weather. 6 miles good going for kids and we did it in 3:30.

Enjoying God's creation on the banks of Loch Ness.
Returning to an old hill, Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh has a prominent view from the surrounding area of Loch Ness and Inverness-Shire.
