Creag Meagaidh, October 2021
Spectacular walk from Loch Laggan through the Creag Meagaidh (pronounced Craig Megee) Nature Reserve to this Coire Ardair. One path to the summit is through the "Window" - the "V" in the centre. Walkers beware this is a difficult treacherous mountain especially in poor weather.

Walking in to Coire Àrdair
Something a little different for Iain (Highlandscape) and I yesterday. In an attempt to avoid the masses of tourists currently in the Highlands we elected to take a 6km walk into the Creag Meagaidh Nature Reserve to reach Lochan a Choire at the foot of Coire Àrdair. We had no idea if it was to be just a single shot location but happily found several places to stop on the route in to capture the stunning scenery. This image includes one of several pretty falls on the Allt Coire Àrdair a short distance from the lochan.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.

Double Falls
A stretch of the Allt Coire Ardair, just below Lochan a Choire, was particularly picturesque with vibrant summer colours on the banks and particularly white water in the river. While Iain was framing a wider shot with the mountain backdrop, I took this more intimate shot of this pretty double cascade.

Destination Achieved
You almost stumble upon Lochan a Choire before you see it, appearing only at the very end of the hike in. We had to wait a few minutes for a group of (mad!) wild swimmers to finish their dip but, despite a lack of light on the mountain, it was definitely worth all the effort to reach here.
