Lochindorb Castle.
The castle is on a partialy man made island about 250 metres from the nearest edge of the loch. It dates from around the thirteenth century and was at one time a stronghold of Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, also known as The Wolf of Badenoch.

Lochindorb Castle, Dava, Highland
Lochindorb Castle, three miles south west of Dava. Only accessible by boat or similar craft. The view is looking south with the nearest point to land on the left. This is possibly why there is an outer curtain wall on that side for extra protection. Lochindorb Castle
Lochindorb was a stronghold of the Comyns Lords of Badenoch and was captured by Edward I in 1303 and again by his son, who strengthened it, a few years later. From 1372 it was occupied by 'The Wolf of Badenoch', Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who died in 1394. It was ordered, by royal mandate, to be destroyed in 1458, having been fortified against the king, but the walls still stand to almost full height.
