G1153 - Clagganghoul
NO 2116 9148, LR44. Second Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1936-52) Flush bracket G1153 was used during the second geodetic levelling of Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 996.527 feet above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Braemar to Banchory line. Geodetic line G.206, levelled during 1946. The surveyor's descripton was "N face, NE angle of bridge (Clagganghoul), W side of road". Third Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1956-68). This flush bracket was reused during the third geodetic levelling of Scotland. It was included on the Braemar to Rhynie line. Geodetic line G.348, levelled during 1958. This marker was last verified in 1958. The OS Online Archive gives the description "Clagganghoul House, NE side of road, NE face, 0.9m from SE angle". SITE VISIT The flush bracket is on the right gable of a private house. Parked in track entrance opposite. The bracket is in good natural condition.
