Hairy Caterpillar
After setting off from Keiloch, I'm cycling up Gleann an T-Slugainup o my way to eventually climb Ben Avon and Beinn a'Bhuird. This Oak Eggar (Lasiocampa quercus) caterpillar was crossing my path, as it made its way across the pebbles of the track, but t's a glorious day, so let's see what the day shall bring. Climbing Ben Avon (pronounced Ben A'an) which stands at 1171 meters (3842 feet), and Beinn a'Bhuird (pronounced Ben a-voashed) standing at 1197 meters (3927 feet), sees me covering a distance of just over 24 miles. They are my 2nd & 3rd Munro's of the season, and bring me to a total of 26 now.

Ruins of Slugain Lodge
Towards the upper reaches of Gleann an T-Slugain, before joining Glen Quoich, Slugain Lodge lies in ruins in the Glen below me. Once an old hunting lodge, it has been left abandoned and derelict for years as nature slowly reclaims it. Glen Quoich isn't far now, and once there I will get my first views of the Munro's, Ben Avon and Beinn a'Bhuird, so let's push on. Derelict Lodge
Five miles up Gleann an t-Slugain, towards its head, lies the long abandoned Slugain Lodge, sitting in the steep sided Glen. This must have been so remote, so far from anyone or anything.

Lodge a Complaint
Inside the ruins of Slugain Lodge, long since abandoned in a very remote part of the Scottish Highlands, near the head of Gleann an t-Slugain.

Falls and Rocks
After descending back down Gleann an t-Slugain (much easier than they way up!) I was looking for a nice spot to have lunch and spotted this just off the track, a perfect location, and lovely to sit in a t-shirt in early November.

Island In The Stream
A rock at the base of the waterfalls by which I'm having lunch sits in the flowing waters as I enjoy myself exploring Gleann an t-Slugain.
