eagle falls, eas an tuirc
these are eagle falls, the 50m falls (36m unsupported)at the head of the unexpectedly awesome gorge of eas an tuirc in a hanging valley above glen fyne. they looked a little anaemic today and probably needed a lot more water in them though the only approach route along the stream bed of the gorge would then become a whole lot more challenging.

eagle's fall (detail)
i'd left my trusty, old, battered tripod the day before at the layby at the devil's pulpit so all these shots were just balanced on rocks. they all were a bit blurry. the falls are described in my book as "50m high, 36m unsupported" but i felt they needed more water- a lot of the burn above is diverted into loch sloy nearby. but the colours in the rock were great. i will definitely go back on a dull day after rain and take my time.

OS Map
This is OS mapping. In some areas, OpenStreetMap shows more footpaths
Spatial NI has online OSNI mapping. Click "Basemap Gallery" (4 squares icon at the top).
Now would be a good time for a cup of tea.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.

- Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
