The thickening cloud layer drained the colour from the landscape so switched to black and white to create this moody atmospheric image.

Beneath The Mountains
The Corrour Bothy nestled below the SCottish Mountains diminished by their size. Looming behind and still covered in snow is the UK's 4th highest peak of Cairn Toul, standing at 1291 meters (4235 feet).

The Corrour Bothy
I've made it at last, my destination for the day, the Corrour Bothy. In a very remote part of the Scottish Highlands, nestled beneath the looming eastern face of the Devil's Point, which stands at 1004 meters (3293 feet), and is a very impressive backdrop to the whole scene.

Deep In The Glen
Climbing slightly above the Corrour Bothy, to see the commanding it has over the Lairig Ghru, a remote Glen deep in the Scottish Highlands. Still covered in winter snow is the UK's 2nd highest peak, Ben MacDui, which stands at 1309 meters (4295 feet). To the right is the rocky ridge leading to another Munro, Carn a'Mhaim.

Looming Towers
Deep in the Lairig Ghru in a remote area of the Scottish Highlands, with the towing Ben MacDui, the UK's 2nd highest peak standing at 1309 meters (4295 feet) still covered in winter snow. To its right is the ridge walk leading to the summit of Carn a'Mhaim. But it's time to stop and rest now and find a nice place to site and have lunch.

Peace and Lunch
This is my lovely little spot for my lunch, a small pebbly beach on the banks of the River Dee, quite near its source in the Scottish Highlands, with a view of the spectacular Lairig Ghru and sheltered from the wind being channelled down the Glen. The river flows down the Dee valley, through Aberdeen harbour to reach the North Sea. Here I have a fine view of Ben MacDui, the UK's 2nd highest peak, which stands at 1309 meters (4295 feet) on the right, opposite Braeriach, standing at 1296 meters (4251 feet), the UK's 3rd highest peak, both still covered in winter snow. Breathe in the fine clear air, and let's eat!!

Lunch With A View
Directly across from my wonderful lunch spot by the River Dee, very near its source, I look out on the steep craggy slopes of Carn a'Mhaim, who's summit is up there somewhere among the rocks. Behind me looms The Devil's Point hemmed in by the wonderful Scottish Mountains.

Beneath It All
Slightly downstream we look beneath the bridge spanning the River Dee. The little pebbly 'beach' on which I've had my lunch is just the other side of the bridge, while through the span the Corrour Bothy can be seen, nestling beneath the UK's 4th highest peak, Cairn Toul, standing at 1291 meters (4235 feet). Beyone that, and still covered in winter snow is Braeriach, standing at 1296 meters (4251 feet), the UK's 3rd highest peak.

Frogs In Love
Two common frogs (Rana temporaria) busy at 'it' by the edge of a pond near the path returning me to Glen Lui from The Lairig Ghru in the Scottish Highalnds. So engrossed in their act they took notice of me whatsoever!!
