Ulmus prionophylla, Large-toothed Elm, with Populus nigra, Highwood Farm, Duddenhoe End, Essex 20220212_165237
Of the two tall trees in the field corner, the thin trunk on the left, with branches ascending at about 45 degrees is the elm, the much larger darker tree with horizontal branches is a black poplar. It's apparently unusual in having the trunk extend right through the crown almost to the top (Sell & Murrell's Flora says 'Trunk extending up to halfway through the crown'. This is the only fairly open-grown tree of this species that I've seen.

Notes
- Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
