S6123 - Craig Maid
NT074177, LR78. HISTORY Pillar completed 14th July 1950 costing £28.1s.9d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NS83/T14 within the Lanark secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1950. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in June 1977. SITE VISIT The pillar is in good condition but top surface weathering away. Spider retains OS centre plug with deep indented lettering. RHS sighting hole open, others plugged. The Flush bracket faces WNW, compass measurement 245°. Route cut through the trees from end of track leading to clear area on top.
