NR619841, LR61. HISTORY Pillar completed 10th June 1959 costing £28.18s.1d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NM52/T85 within the Mull secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1960. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in May 1979. SITE VISIT Approached from the northwest. Room for safe parking in the entrance to a forest track on the west side of the A846 at NR613849. Walked a few yards south on the A846 until finding a suitable place to cross the A846. Headed straght up a on steepish gradient to gain some height. A route was then taken going over higher points until reaching the summit. The higher level tracks shown on the map hardly exist. The Vanessa is in good condition. The spider centre is open. The flush bracket faces southeast, compass measurement 155°. Vented through the left sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view. Descended via a more direct route to the A846 but avoiding boggy areas, then a short walk back up the extremely quiet A846 to the parking spot.
