The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.

On Thick Ice
To get back to the near end of Dubh Loch, rather than follow the path, I walk on top of the thick ice. Keeping fairly close to the banks (I am on my own afterall!!) we can look down through the ice to the stones at the bottom of the Loch. There were fish swimming beneath my feet too, although not visible in this image I'm afraid, but you can see the micro spike cleats I've got attached to my boots.

Rocking The Ice

Adieu To Dubh
Returning to the path once more we get one final view of Dubh Loch in all its winter finery nestled among the steep mountains of the Scottish Highlands. I'm keeping the micro spikes on for the return journey, which, trust, makes life a lot easier!!

- Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
