Summer Isles sunset from Ardmair on the Coigach coast, Wester Ross, Scotland.
Poem. As evening looms, an indigo sea meets a purple sky with a burnished gold sunset between, like the regal embellishments of a monarch’s throne. The Summer Isles justify their name, as the sun’s beams silhouette the small, fragmented, hilly islands. Renowned for being spectacular, sunsets here, are so, in all seasons. But in summer, they linger longer, often beyond 22:00. One of my Wonders of the World!
