NG764520, LR24. HISTORY Pillar completed 16th June 1957 costing £83.6s.6d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NH16/T25 within the Wester Ross secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1958. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in May 1980. SITE VISIT Overall approach from NNE Parked safely off-road beside the bend by the bridge at NG786548, to the west side of the road to the north of the bridge. Walked north up the road for around 300m and turned left at NG786551 onto the track that leads into Inverbain. There is a waymarked route around this cottage which leads to the long mapped hill a path to the SSW. Followed this footpath to the cairn at NG768511, then straght up (NW) the hill to the summit. The stone-built pillar is in good condition. The spider centre is open. The flush bracket faces south, compass measurement 178°. Vented through the left (west) sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view.
