The traverse of Druim Fada: looking south from towards the east end of the ridge
Although only reaching 713m in height, Druim Fada possesses a long contorted ridge 6km in length with, in my view, some of the finest mountain views to be had in Scotland, overlooking as it does Loch Hourn and the hills of Knoydart. The pictures here record a traverse from east to west, starting with the narrows of Loch Hourn and ending with wide views towards the Isle of Skye. First views over the other side of the ridge across Loch Hourn towards Meall nan Eun and behind it the Munros of Knoydart, including to the right Ladhar Bheinn.

The traverse of Druim Fada: looking back east along the ridge
Although only reaching 713m in height, Druim Fada possesses a long contorted ridge 6km in length with, in my view, some of the finest mountain views to be had in Scotland, overlooking as it does Loch Hourn and the hills of Knoydart. The pictures here record a traverse from east to west, starting with the narrows of Loch Hourn and ending with wide views towards the Isle of Skye. My chosen route of ascent was up the rocky north ridge centre right of picture and the problems of its cragginess at the top of the rib (marked with a note) are clear from here. There's a sloping grass gully round to the right of the centre line not visible when you are there but worth knowing.
