Cloudy Panoramic
I am reaching the upper slopes of Glas Tulaichean now, and am just below the low base which hangs around me, and shrouds the summits other mountains across the distant Glens. Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.

Head In The Clouds
Leaving the bike further down the slope, I enter the cloud base as I make the final push to the summit of Glas Tulaichean. Looking back I get a great view of the track I have been following, but most of the rest of the landscape is obscured by the mist of the clouds.

Marker Cairn on Glas Tulaichean
I am getting very close to the summit of Glas Tulaichean now, and am well and truly inside the low clouds that shroud it. This marker cairn leads the way to the tru summit which is just over the rise in front, obscured by the mists at this point. Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. Shrouded Summit
At last I reach the summit of Glas Tulaichean, after just over 2 hours of solid climbing. The low clouds unfortunately obscure any view I would have but do give a mysterious feel around the Trig Point that marks the summit. Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. Summit Trig Point
The summit of Glas Tulaichean is marked with this Trig Point. Built by the Ordinance Survey, Trig Points were erected around Britain to aid in more accurate mapping of the lands. Not all Munro summits are marked by them, but this particular one is, although the surrounding landscape is obscured by the mists of the low clouds that have descended over me.

Into The Void
Just beyond the summit of Glas Tulaichean the landscape forms a large coire (or cliff) and drops away to deep Glens and mountains. Unfortunately the low cloud at this altitude is now obscuring my view and this is what I see while trying, as best I can, to shelter form the 45mph winds while having sandwiches for lunch. Fortunately a thermos of hot coffee helps keep the chills out a little. Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. Lost World
As I sit eating some of my sandwiches, trying to shelter from the cold 45mph winds that are blowing around the summit Glas Tulaichean, my view is obscured by the low clouds that shrouds what should be a dramatic landscape. But, on the other hand, the clouds do add a certain atmosphere to the aspect. Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. Bitter Selfie
One final summit selfie, of my good self standing by the Trig Point that marks the summit of Glas Tulaichean. The winds are blowing at over 45mph, and are bitterly cold at this altitude, but fortunately |I am wrapped up against the worst of it. I've refuelled with a couple of quick sandwiches and hot coffee, but my hands are starting to turn numb so it's time to head back to the bike and make the descent.
