NH774198, LR35. HISTORY Pillar completed 27th June 1953 costing £17.19s.6d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NJ06/6 within the Nairn seconday block, and levelled to second class precision during 1956. Routine maintenance by the Ordnance Survey was last undertaken in June 1976. This marker was later visited by the OS on 9th June 2001. SITE VISIT Overall approach from NNE. Parked by roadside past Knockandoo at NH787249. Followed the mapped estate tracks all the way via NH772242 and Carn Ruigue Shamhraich. Open moorland top. Large cairn at summit. The pillar is in good condition. The spider retains its original OS centre cap with deep indented letters. The flush bracket faces northeast, compass reading 36°. Vented through left (SE) sight hole. 360° panoramic view to surrounding tops and beyond.
