S6178 - Beinn Bhreac
NN733402, LR51 & LR52. HISTORY Pillar completed 2nd September 1950, costing £28.8s.4d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NO02/1 within the Perth secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1951. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of secondary block NN96 (Pitlochry) during 1959. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in May 1980. SITE VISIT Pillar in very good condition. Spider centre open retaining one Allen screw. The flush bracket faces NNE. LHS sighting hole open, others plugged. 360° panorama includes Ben More, Schichallion, Ciochan a'Chop, Carn Liath, Carn Gower, and Ben Vrackie.
