Beinn Dearg - with views over Ullapool and Assynt #2
This picture is from the same spot as the previous pictures just taken the next morning. The sun was coming up behind illuminating the tops of An Teallach. The dyke in the picture is known as the famine wall and was built by crofters in return for food during the Highland potato famine of the mid-1840s.

Also seen is An Teallach in the West. One of the most interesting parts of the walk was a dyke. Apparently, the dyke known as the famine wall was built by crofters in return for food during the Highland potato famine of the mid-1840s. The drystane dyke consits of often huge blocks. I was hoping for a sunset shoot; however, due to heavy clouds it never materialized.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.

- Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
