Summit of Carn Liath
At last we've made it, the rocky summit and cairn marking the top of Carn Liath. It's such a beautiful day and we have a fine view of the snow capped Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands. Here we can see the UK's 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest peaks.

From The Summit of Carn Liath
From the summit of Carn Liath we have a great view down into Glen Dee, if you look close enough you can see White Bridge as it crosses the River Dee. Beyond rise the magnificent Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands and in view are the UKs 2nd, 3rd & 4th highest peaks.

View From The Top
I'd like to say this was the view from The Battery, but when I checked the map when I got home, it turns out that's the hill to the right. Oh well, I've still got a great view of the Glen I've come up on the left and will be descending through very shortly. For those of you who follow my walks, Morrone, a Corbett I climbed a couple of weeks ago, can be seen in the distance.

Another Summit
It's not The Battery but it's a summit all the same, of an unnamed mountain, but it does offer a great view back over Carn Liath where I've just been and the snow capped Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands beyond.

Another Summit
I've come around this 'horseshoe' and am heading round to The Battery another summit on this plateau. The hill to the right of picture is Carn Liath that I've just been on, and I've left the bike at the end of the track leading up below it. I'm now off-piste making my way through the heather and rocks.

Between the Mountains
Coming back round again to pick up the bike we can look all the way back down the Glen we've followed, and will be descending back along shortly. Carn Liath is to the left, and the unnamed summit is to the right, with Morrone, a Corbett I climbed very recently can be seen in the distance.
