100 Strangers - David the Trig Bagger
100 Strangers - David the Trig Bagger

It's been a while since I tackled the 100 Strangers Project, a Flickr project where you approach a stranger and ask to capture their image and a few words about them. I met Dave at the OS trigonometry monument atop Blackdown on the Surrey Sussex Boarder. We get chatting as to the reason for our being there. I was capturing one for my trig project, Dave was peak bagging with his family for the next of his highest peaks of all the National Parks of Great Britain. Ex-Milton Keynes Dave had travelled down from MK to bag the summit of Blackdown. 2 weeks ago Dave was on the top of Pen-y-Fan, highest point of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Breacon Beacons National Park). The Blackdown summit at SU 91932 29598 at 280m AOD is the highest point in the South Downs National Park. I met Peak Bagging David while on my trig bagging project's visit to the OS monument atop Blackdown in West Sussex, apparently the highest point in the Downs Naitonal Park. Dave was on day trip down from Milton Keynes as he and family progress thieir bagging of the highest points of all the UK's Naitonal Parks. The previous weekend they had been on Pen-Y-Fan.

Speech by John of Gaunt, in Shakespeare’s, King Richard ll. This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, this earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, this other Eden, demi-paradise, this fortress built by Nature for herself against infection and the hand of war, this happy breed of men, this little world, this precious stone set in the silver sea, which serves it in the office of a wall or as a moat defensive to a house, against the envy of less happier lands,-- this blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. William Shakespeare, "King Richard II", Act 2 Scene 1 Greatest English dramatist & poet (1564 - 1616) I dare not have the audacity and arrogance to suggest that I could put this description of our hallowed land a thousandth as well as the Great Bard, himself, William Shakespeare, in my opinion, the greatest English man to ever draw breath, a veritable genius, a demi-God.
