The emblems on this 12th or 13th century slab are a sword on the left and an arrow in a quiver plus a bow on the right. The slab was found buried in the 1880s and then set into the west wall. Peter Ryder. The Medieval cross slab Graves Covers in Cumbria, p 32

Dufton St Cuthbert
Peering through a window gave us a glimpse of the interior. The stained glass is rather pretty and we would like to get in and photograph it.

Dufton Pike
From the Settle-Carlisle Railway, 02/08/11, 14:48. Northbound, looking east. Just out of Appleby, heading for Langwathby. Nice bit of foreground blur, which makes the picture, I think.
