Wansfell Pike descent to Troutbeck, Cumbria.
A lovely sunny day, but a cold breeze, hence the winter hat!

Wansfell Pike descent, Cumbria. Field gate.
This is the gate where the main path down off the summit continues down to Troutbeck via Nanny Lane, or you can turn right and cross the boggy ground on paving slabs down Hundreds Lane, dry shod! Note the gate housing that held the iron pintle within a hole drilled through the protruding stone of the earlier gate.

Blocked road in Troutbeck
Strong winds had upended the tree, not long before the bus I was on arrived on its way up Kirkstone Pass.

One very stuck 508 bus
We wouldn't be getting up the Kirkstone Pass to Patterdale and Penrith for quite some time. My Wainwright bagging plans for the day were rather thwarted.
