The graffiti on the trig point, 'Yma o hyd' ('We're still here'), is taken from the title of a campaigning Welsh language folk song from the 1980s and is an unofficial Welsh sporting anthem, most notably in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Dafydd Iwan said of his song "It was a terrible time and the Thatcher regime hit Wales heavily. Coal mines and steelworks were closed and I was in the middle of a terrible divorce. Yma o Hyd is about how we're still here, despite everything and everyone and even ourselves."
