By the River Bank
By the River Faughan in Learmount Forest, Park, Co. Derry, I believe the hill is Straid Hill. The Faughan has its source in the Sperrin Mountains to the south, and flows through Claudy, Drumahoe and Campsie before emptying into Lough Foyle.

Tony Lynch's
Not my usual kind of shot but I thought this was a lovely, well kept pub front. Sadly there were two cars parked in front of it hence the crop. Seen in the village of Park, Co. Derry.

Learmount Parish Church, Park (1831)
A front view of this pretty (if a little neglected looking) Church of Ireland located on the edge of Learmount Forest in the village of Park, Co. Derry.

Learmount Parish Church, Park (1831)
Pretty (if a little neglected looking) Church of Ireland located on the edge of Learmount Forest in the village of Park, Co. Derry. Was really disappointed with the dull skies in this (they weren't as bad in real life) as it was quite a picturesque setting.

Kevin Lynch Memorial, Park
Memorial to Irish republican hunger striker Kevin Lynch, in the small village of Park, Co. Derry. Lynch was born in the village but his family later moved to the nearby town of Dungiven where he was schooled. He was a member of the town's St. Patrick's Hurling Team, which won the Féile na nGael in Thurles, Co. Tipperary in 1971, and in 1972 he captained the Co. Derry Hurling team to an Under-16 All-Ireland title at Croke Park, Dublin. Following his death at the age of 26, the team was renamed Kevin Lynch's in his honour - a move which has attracted intermittent criticism from unionist politicians ever since. Following a period working in England, Lynch returned home in August 1976 and soon joined the INLA. His republican involvement was short-lived, however and in December he was charged with stealing shotguns, taking part in a punishment shooting and conspiring to take arms from the security forces. After a year on remand at Crumlin Road Jail, Belfast, he was sent to the Maze Prison ('Long Kesh') for ten years in December 1977. He quickly got involved in the long-running 'Blanket protest', and joined the 1981 hunger strike on 23 May, the eighth to do so. In June, Lynch stood as an election candidate in the Republic, in the Waterford constituency, and collected 3,337 first preferences before being eliminated on the fifth count. He was the seventh of the hunger strikers to die, on 1 August, after 71 days. An inscription on the back of the memorial says it was erected by Counties Derry & Antrim Commemoration Committee, and unveiled by Sinn Féin Foyle MLA, and former (1980) hunger striker, Raymond McCartney on 24 May 2009.
