Nature therapy
The evening I made this panorama I had in mind another image but the weather conditions were not the best for it. I turned my camera and my full attention to this beautiful scene full of subtle layers and colour gradation. The whole experience was not of disappointment at not being able to capture the image I had in mind but of joy at being able to take in the beauty of this alternative scene.

Waiting for the light that never came
The evening I spent on top of this hill in the Western Mourne Mountains is a classic example of that situation whereby one is expecting something and the fact that it never happened made the whole experience more pleasurable. This was the very last frame I made before heeding back down. The fog was almost covering most of the scene but the last sun rays from the left side added a little brightness and colour. The whole scene looked very subtle and serene. Most of the images I made that evening were with a telephoto lens and in a different direction to the main scene I wanted to capture.
