NT071351, LR72. HISTORY Pillar completed 1st July 1949 costing £20.19s.3d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NS83/T21 within the Lanark secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1950. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in October 1979. SITE VISIT Overall approach from south. Parked in old quarry, north side of unclassified road at NT072344. Along track to Goseland Farm for 100m and up SW shoulder of Oak Brae to top then bear across to Goseland Hill summit. Open grazing top. Pillar in fair condition, frost damage to top with surface separating from trunk. Spider retains OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces north, ~354°. Vented through west and south sight holes. 360° panorama from top.
