Lady Catherine's Halt, Dava Way, Grantown on Spey, Oct 2024
I have passed this mansion a few times in the car, it was great to get a view from the old railway line. This is the East Lodge of Castle Grant. This lodge was built along with a passenger halt as compensation for crossing the lands of the Earl of Seafield by the Inverness and Perth Junction Railway. The name Lady Catherine remains a mystery as there is no Catherine in the annals of the Castle Grant dynasty.
