NY449920, LR79. HISTORY Pillar completed 24th April 1954 costing £79.4s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NT72/27 within the Jedburgh secondary block during 1957, and levelled to second class precision in 1958. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in May 1977. SITE VISIT Approached from the north. Parked by the wide entrance to Twislehope at NY450967. Up via Din Fell, then continued southwards via the mapped track which has now been extended past the summit of Roan Fell. The pillar is in good condition. The spider centre is open. The flush bracket faces southeast, compass measurement 145°. Vented through the left (SW) sight hole. Full 360° open outlook from top.
