S1619 - Kings Seat
NO230330, LR53. HISTORY Pillar completed 8th October 1936 costing £15.12s.6d. This marker was computed for triangulation as primary station PP310 in Figure 3 of the OSGB36 primary network of the OSGB36 retriangulation network during 1937. This station was also used for the reconnaissance of adjacent secondary blocks NO42 (Dundee) in 1948, NO02 (Perth) in 1951, NO46 (Forfar) in 1956, and NN96 (Pitlochry) during 1959. Flush bracket S1619 was levelled to second class precision with the reconnaissance of adjacent secondary block NO02 in 1951. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in August 1982. SITE VISIT Open grazing top. White painted pillar in good condition. Spider centre open. Flush bracket faces 162° SSE. Vented through west sight hole. Pillar completed 8th October 1936 costing £15.12s.6d.
