Crazy skies
Some crazy skies over Aberdeenshire this afternoon in the strong southwesterly flow. Mammatus clouds are normally associated with cumulonimbus clouds, but they do for a time in frontal cloud in a southwesterly across Northeast Scotland.

Nacreous cloud
Nacreous clouds looking southwest towards Lochnagar at around sunset. Wasn't too sure if this was Nacreous at first, but was able to match the cloud formation with an image taken further southwest in Blairgowrie, and work out the altitude to be around 80,000 feet. This might also explain the prolonged red sunset on Christmas eve ?.

Friday evening visit to Bennachie
Made it through another working week. Quiet on the hill and cold. Fingers felt frozen, sitting on top, eating my butties. Warm coffee helped. We walked across the tops just by moonlight, so bright tonight. This hill is home to a lot of signs, hard to miss them even in the dark.

The other photos have been geo-tagged as on or around the summit. For less busy mountains, it can be a little hit and miss.
