NN027102, LR50 & LR55. HISTORY Pillar completed 28th September 1949 costing £54.0s.10d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NS29/2 within the Greenock secondary block during 1952, and levelled to second class precision at the same time. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in June 1980. SITE VISIT Parked at NN085108. Up through woods then a lengthy trot over very rough open ground is the only means of getting there. Bogs! Recommended only after a long dry spell. This top is mapped as Beinn Bhreac. Pillar in good condition, but part of top surface depleted. Spider retains OS centre cap with shallow engraved font. The flush bracket faces ENE, compass measurement 65°. All four sighting holes open, pillar bolt viewable.
