Early morning view of the Black Cuillin from Sgurr na Stri, Isle of Skye, Scotland
This viewpoint has been on my bucket list for years. At just a tad less than 500 mts high, this ascent isn’t the most challenging, but the peak does guarantee a magnificent return on investment compared to others at a similar height, offering some of the very best views in the UK from its summit. It truly is a belter of a vista towards one of the finest mountain panoramas. Several routes to get there. I chose to walk in from Kilmarie which if you were a young thing and hill fit (I am neither) you could do the whole route in a day. However, I camped at beautiful Camasunary Bay. An early morning start with a river crossing and a boggy, kind of indistinct steep path led me up to the bealach and then on to the magical summit. Trickiest part of the day was trying to position myself in front of my camera within the 10 second self timer setting. 😄 © All rights reserved

Torrin
After camping in Camasunary Bay, heading south towards another beach. Then north towards Torrin, and north again to camp in the hills above Suisnish. A much sunnier and warmer day compared to the rainy, misty day before.

Thunderstorm near Elgol
It was already late afternoon when I stopped on the hill above Elgol and admire a unique spectacle. Dark thunderclouds lay over the sea. Between a gap in the clouds, the sun's rays fall on the water and create a mystical atmosphere. Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK. Photographed with AE bracketing and six exposures.
