NR398439, LR60. HISTORY Pillar completed 25th September 1956 costing £45.17s.3d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NR55/21 within the Islay secondary block, and levelled to second class precision during 1957. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in May 1979. SITE VISIT Arrived courtesy of Islay Sea Adventures. Approached from the quay at NR390639. A worn path leads most of the way to the trig. The pillar is in good condition. The spider retains an OS centre cap with deep indented letters. The flush bracket faces west, compass measurement 255°. Vented through the back sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view.
