The risen sun illuminates the safe, calm harbour of Craob Haven, on the Argyll coast, south of Oban.
Commentary. Argyll with its long, twisting, tangled coastline, alluring islands and many sheltered bays is a sailor’s delight. From the Mull of Kintyre to Ardnamurchan one could sail past scores of hills, a hundred mountains and thousands of rocks, skerries and islands. Craobh Haven is just one of many harbours from where Mull, Colonsay, Kerrera, Lismore, Scarba, Luing, Islay, Jura and countless other magical islands can be explored. Here on a high summer’s day the clear, calm water contrasts beautifully with the pristine shell-white hulls and the greeny-yellow seaweed. Now all that is needed is a stealthy breeze, but for now, perfect calm.

- Data: Database of British and Irish Hills v18.2
- Maps: We use OS mapping for England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Sadly, Channel Islands, Northern (OSNI) and Southern Ireland (OSI) mapping isn't available online, so we use Openstreetmap.
