Winter plumage
A ptarmigan, with white winter plumage, looks out toward An Teallach, a ridge that we traversed on Sunday. As seen from the Fannichs

Ptarmigan's nest
Taken on the approach to Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich. I walked so close to the nest that the hen had to make an emergency departure (no time to cover her eggs), I hurriedly took this picture then left so she could return to protect her future clan. Had she sat tight or been away from her nest, I would quite likely have trodden on her or the eggs, so good was the disguise loc.alize.us/#/flickr:401726685 Taken from about here www.flickr.com/groups/geotagging/discuss/72157594165549916/ [?]
